Albert Hall Museum is the oldest museum in Rajasthan, opposite the new gate outside the city in Ram Niwas Garden. The hall is also known as the Government Central Museum. The museum building, in the year 1887, is one of the famous places for Jaipur sightseeing tours for foreigners.
Initially, the ruler, Maharaja Ram Singh, wanted the premises to be the town hall of the palace, but his successor, Madho Singh II, marked the museum as the art of Jaipur.
