Albert Hall Museum: About, History, Activities, Time, and Entry Fee

Albert Hall Museum is the oldest museum in Rajasthan, opposite the new gate outside the city in Ram Niwas Garden. The hall is also known as the Government Central Museum. The museum building, in the year 1887, is one of the famous places for Jaipur sightseeing tours for foreigners.

History

Initially, the ruler, Maharaja Ram Singh, wanted the premises to be the town hall of the palace, but his successor, Madho Singh II, marked the museum as the art of Jaipur. During the year 1876, the visit of a prince of wales, Albert Edward, started the construction of the Hall but done by the year 1887 and was developed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob.

The Victoria and Albert Museum present in London has a similar design to this museum. The Museum consists of 19,000 historical art crafts, such as textiles, pottery, jewelry, carved wooden objects, arms, weapons, ceramics, oil, miniature paintings, inlay work, musical instruments, clocks, and marble statues. Timing and Entry Fees
