Our 8 Days Rajasthan Tribal & Folk Culture tour brings a wonderful experience that ventures off the beaten track to experience Rajasthan’s real insight into nature. Living culture is the main objective of the tour, not simply witnessing it. Travellers will explore the remote villages, meet the local artists and musicians and learn about their traditions that have been followed for decades. Day 1: Arrival in Jaipur
Upon your arrival at Jaipur International Airport, you’re warmly welcomed as you begin your cultural trip. Explorers were dropped off at the pre-booked hotel. The remaining day is free for travellers. They can simply lounge in or take a relaxed stroll through the village markets. A heart-warming welcome in the state of royals will be arranged by an evening special traditional folk dance and music show.
Day 2: Jaipur Folk Art & Culture
Spend the day exploring a local artisan village close to Jaipur. Travellers can see the making of traditional folk-art forms like pottery, block printing and miniature painting. They can have an opportunity to interact with the artisans, get to try their hands at the experience. In the afternoon, you’ll be exploring the Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing, offering extensive information on the art and history of block printing, to learn something more about Jaipur. The day will be a visual treat, enabling you to enjoy every rich colour and elaborate pattern characteristic of the folk art of Rajasthan.
Day 3: Jaisalmer Transfer
You will be flown to Jaisalmer, also referred to as the Golden City, in the Thar Desert, following an early breakfast. Get escorted to your desert camp upon arrival. Exposure to the unique culture of the desert takes center stage in the afternoon. Following a camel safari over the golden sands in the evening, travellers will be entertained with a cultural show under the night sky of the desert. Along with an age-old tradition, Manganiyar and Langa Musicians will entertain a mesmerising evening of traditional music at the camp.
Day 4: Jaisalmer Fort
Take a morning visit to the magnificent Jaisalmer Fort, a living fort where 25% of the city resides, setting the day in motion. Its intricately carved havelis, a Jain Temple and curving alleys, all of which speak of a great past. You’ll take a special excursion to the Gadisar tribal village in the afternoon. The Gadiyars are nomads, known for their unique lifestyle and work in iron. A glimpse into their traditions and lifestyle would be unique with this visit.
Day 5: Traditional Music & Jodhpur Transfer
After an unforgettable desert excursion, you will be transferred to Jodhpur, popularly known as the “Blue City.” The long journey is scenic, offering glimpses of Rajasthan’s changing scenery and country life. You’ll arrive at your hotel upon arrival. Travellers will explore an evening private folk music concert. Listen to the soul-moving songs of instruments such as the Kamaicha and Sarangi in Jodhpur, where some of Rajasthan’s best folk artists reside. The vibrant musical heritage of Rajasthan will be honoured this evening.
Day 6: Udaipur Tour
Get transferred to Udaipur to begin the trip. As travellers proceed through the Aravalli hills, they will see a sudden change in the surroundings. The Bhil and Garasiya tribes will be there to introduce local culture. One of Rajasthan’s most ancient tribes, the Bhil are famous for their vibrant costumes and expertise with an arrow. Learn about their customs, rituals and their in-depth knowledge of the region’s rich fauna and flora species. Relax in your hotel upon arrival in Udaipur and spend the evening at leisure.
Day 7: Tribal Heritage & Sightseeing
Today’s agenda is to discover the tribal heritage of Udaipur. The Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal is a museum of folk art with an array of Rajasthani folk traditions like puppets, masks, costumes and musical instruments. Puppet shows and folk dances are performed daily at the museum. Visit Shilpgram, a crafts village with architecture and paintings of various tribes of Goa, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. This will provide a comprehensive overview of the region’s rich cultural traditions.
Day 8: Departure
After your final breakfast, you’ll be escorted to the Udaipur airport to resume your trip. A more sophisticated understanding and respect for Rajasthan’s diverse and tribal heritage.
